We are an initiative of academics in Austria. Dr. Elisabeth Günther and Mag. Odin Kroeger are responsible for the content of this website.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you sign this open letter either by sending us an email or by using the form on the webseite, we will keep the data you have sent us as long as this website is online.
We will publish your name, academic titles and the institution you work at on this website and in the open letter. We will not publish your email address.
This website will remain online until the conclusion of the public debate on the an amendment of the University Act, but no longer than the 15th of April 2021, after which we will also delete the data you have sent us via email.
When you leave comments on our website, we collect the data requested in the comment form as well as your IP address and the user agent string of your web browser (this identifies the software in use) in order to better recognise spam.
If you have a registered account at the website and upload photos to this website, you should avoid uploading photos with an EXIF GPS location. Visitors to this website may download photos stored on this website and extract their location information.
When you post a comment on our website, this may constitute consent to store your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter this information when you post another comment. These cookies are stored for one year.

How long we keep your data
If you signed this open letter, we will keep your email until the end of the public debate, but no longer than the 15th of April 2021.
If you write a comment, it will be stored indefinitely, including metadata. This allows us to automatically recognise and approve follow-up comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.
For those who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can view, change or delete their personal information at any time (the user name cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and change this information.
What rights you have to your data
If you have signed this open letter or have an account on this website or have posted comments, you may request an export of your personal information from us, including any data you have provided to us. In addition, you can request the deletion of all personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security needs.
